Two more days!

The little people returned from camp. Go figure it was my kid who had the only accident while there. My youngest played basketball and ended up with a fractured wrist and an appointment to see a specialist. The splint isn't so bad, except reminding him to keep it on is a pain.

We are now counting down the days until school starts, only 2 more days to go! They are making goals to be on honor roll all year long, again. I hope they keep up with the advanced classes too. In the mean time I've been inspired, some more!

Peace & Quiet

The little people are off to camp and I miss them already. There's no noise except the cicada's outside in the trees and Hobbes is catching up on his zzz's.
So what to do for the next 3 days?

Garden of the Gods!

An adventure! We kept the kids from knowing exactly where they were going. Even as we were driving there I would send a text to the older ones in the car behind us of what exits to look for as we came up to them. Shawnee National Forest was just like a grown up play ground to them. This was our last full day with Connor before he took off to the Army.

If you think my hands are full, you should see my heart

A week filled with allergies and an emergency visit to the vet, I must be needing adventure again. Mr. Hobbes was in pain when I came home from walking the other night. He couldn't move his tail up to wag and all he could do was cry. I am happy to say he is getting back to being himself again! I smile every time his tail goes up!
I wish I could choose which weeds were allowed to grow in my yard. The next time we choose a house it will not be two houses away from a corn field, at least that much I can guarantee. I'm ready for fall and less days filled with sneezing! Even with all the sneezing and suffering through the corn pollen, I would rather be outside playing in the garden. Our tomatoes are huge! I grabbed a few for BLT's today, left the basket outside and came back to jalapeno peppers. My neighbors are awesome!

Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday. ~John Wayne

More projects!

More projects, more ideas, more creativity!

After hours of scraping, primer and paint...
(and a few broken fingernails)

I finished a small owl basket last night.
The perfect size to hold scrubbies near the sink.

Mini Apple Pies

What better way is there to spend a hot afternoon when your belly is full of mini apple pies?

They made a great snack and I'm sure they will be great with ice cream, the next time I make them. You can find the recipe here. Enjoy!

Crocheted Coasters

I happened upon a super easy tutorial for crocheted coasters and thought I'd give it a try. I think I'm hooked, now if I can get the guys to actually use them! I made mine a little different. I used a 5mm hook and Peaches and Creme yarn, and left out the contrast round. Really easy and they'll make a great gift too!
