Crocheted Coasters

I happened upon a super easy tutorial for crocheted coasters and thought I'd give it a try. I think I'm hooked, now if I can get the guys to actually use them! I made mine a little different. I used a 5mm hook and Peaches and Creme yarn, and left out the contrast round. Really easy and they'll make a great gift too!

Artists Day at Whiteside Garden

50 years ago Dr. Wes Whiteside began a garden on his wooded land just east of Charleston, IL. It now covers 5 acres and contains over 700 species of plants. Korbin and I were blessed with a morning of wandering through his garden. What an inspiration!

Photoshoot with Baby Praying Mantis

In the right place at the right time?! I just happened to take the dog out and I just happened to wander around the yard to check on all the flowers. I didn't make it very far when I noticed this little baby. It was sitting on top of a petal. I didn't have my phone on me to take a quick pic, so I grabbed the camera and had to hunt for it when I came back out. I think it was curious. The little things that make me smile!

Art!

A day in the park with the local artists! We enjoyed Mattoon Art Works at Peterson Park on Saturday. I happened on a post card with all the info during one of our many visits to the library last week. A vender shared a post card with the info for the next two events. We are looking forward to Artists Day in the Garden on the 29th!
